On Friday 20 October 2017, the Netherland’s iconic singing competition The Voice of Holland returns for an eighth season on RTL 4.
Dutch singer-sensation Anouk will make her comeback as a coach. Ali B, Sanne and Waylon will be taking their places on the other red chairs. They will be listening more critically than ever and only choosing the very best. This makes the auditions more exciting than ever!
New set, new format
The new season of The Voice of Holland will air from a brand-new set. Wendy van Dijk and Martijn Krabbé – this year’s presenters – will be standing even closer to the families and friends of the contestants during the performances, meaning they not only can see the contestants, but the contestants can see them too. Jamai Loman is back as a member of the presentation team. He will be ambushing contestants holding tickets to the Blind Auditions and will be in the Red Room during the live shows.
The programme not only has a new set, but also a modified format. Instead of six Blind Auditions, this season will feature seven of these nail-biting rounds. The Blind Auditions will be followed by The Battles, where the contestants will face off against each other in a musical duel. Every coach will take eight contestants to The Knockouts, during which the contestants will have to win the coaches over with a solo performance. Those contestants that survive will move on to the live shows. There will be four live shows this season.
Red Room app
This year, RTL 4 viewers can once again get involved in The Voice of Holland via multiple online platforms. They can continue using the Red Room app to play along via the Home Coach Game and the virtual reality function to experience what it’s like to be a coach or contestant.
The Voice Senior
Following The Voice Holland and The Voice Kids, RTL 4 will launch a new version for people over 65 – The Voice Senior is planned to air next year.
