Even more fiction: Freundinnen – jetzt erst recht is the name of a new daily series that RTL Television will start airing during autumn 2018, at 17:00. The drama focuses on the lives of four girlfriends in their forties. They all finally want their wishes and desires to be realised, under the motto ‘Right now is the new beginning of MY life!’ The series will feature actress Franziska Arndt, whom viewers will recognise from guest appearances in Sankt Maik and Der Lehrer. Another of the four main roles will be played by Shirin Soraya, who has appeared in various sketch comedy formats. Freundinnen – jetzt erst recht is being produced by UFA Serial Drama.

“We want to make yet another splash with a daily series. RTL has shaped this genre in Germany like nobody else,” says Frank Hoffmann in the DWDL.de interview.
Another series to go into production is Die Klempnerin (working title The Plumber). This new prime-time police series, also due to air on RTL Television, is about a police psychologist, played by Yasmina Djaballah.
Speaking about the new prime-time series in his interview with DWDL.de, Frank Hoffmann reveals: “We are very impressed with the first episode, which incidentally also performed particularly well in our media research, hence our decision to proceed with the production of a full series.”
