‘L’amour est dans le pré’ returns for a 15th season

September 3, 2020

France, Groupe M6

The 14th of September is a day that every French dating show fanatic must have in their diaries as the smash-hit matchmaking show, ‘L’amour est dans le pré’ (Farmer wants a wife), returns to M6 for its 15th season. Starting that Monday in its usual slot of 21:05, Karine Le Marchand will guide 13 farmers, comprising 2 women and 11 men ageing from 37 to 63, through the treacherous fields of dating in their quest for eternal love. The Fremantle production offers a virtual escape to the countryside for everyone who has been locked up in their houses in recent months and seeks to build on its eye-watering ratings from recent years, the highest ratings that the format sees globally.

Not only are the ratings high, the farmers’ chances of finding love are also high. Over the last 15 years, almost 80 farmers have participated, out of whom there have been 19 weddings and 55 children. ‘L’amour est dans le pré’ has been the most-watched format of the French summer for M6 for many of those 15 years. Season after season, episode after episode, millions of viewers followed the contestants in their quest for a partner.

Instigating these matches will be the ever-present Karine Le Marchand, fresh from being voted this year’s most popular TV Presenter in France. Having hosted the show since 2010, she has long been the farmers’ greatest advocate for finding love. However, this year, Karine is going one step further to sow the seed of love; she is going to accompany the participants on their speed dates and give them crucial advice beforehand and afterwards.

I will have the privilege of accompanying and supporting the candidates at the very start of their love story.

If your weekly dose of dating hasn’t been satisfied after Monday’s one-hour episodes, M6 has got you covered. Directly after each chapter, M6 will broadcast ‘L’amour vu dans le pré’ (Farmer wanted a wife) which recounts the twists and turns of the show’s previous episodes.
