With all of the recent brand safety concerns and data privacy scandals, ‘Linear’ TV appears to have quietly continued winning back the hearts of many advertisers. Yet concerns abound over audience quality, chord cutting and the relevance of the traditional ad break as “appointment viewing” becomes a thing of the past. In this discussion, we will see that linear TV is actually capable of evolving into a performance-marketing channel that can be measured and optimized in real-time. But is this enough? Can TV find a business model to ensure that it remains the largest share of brand spend globally? What is the advertisers’ vision of the medium’s future?
