The new Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland free-to-air TV channel makes its on-air debut at 8:15 p.m. sharp on December 1. It offers a colorful mix of well-known Vox shows, free-to-air TV premieres, and new original productions.
Just in time for the Advent season, Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland has a very special early holiday season gift for all viewers who simply can’t get enough of the TV channel Vox: A new linear TV channel, Vox up, will be launched on Sunday, December 1, offering a colorful mix of well-known Vox shows, free-to-air TV premieres, and new original productions (see BENET report).
It kicks off at 8:15 p.m. with the iconic Vox series “Ally McBeal.” The hit U.S. series still has a huge fan base today. Vox up will air the series starring multi-Emmy- and Golden Globe award-winning Calista Flockhart as a courageous, dreamy lawyer from the first season on. Free-to-air TV premieres and new original productions will also be in the program lineup from the outset, including the premiere of the eight-part documentary series “Mein Traumhaus am Meer” (My Dream House by the Sea) and the three-part docusoap “Ein Baby zieht ein” (A Baby Moves In) as a free-to-air TV premiere. Another highlight is the [German] free-to-air TV premiere of the ten-part mystery drama series “The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair” starring Patrick Dempsey. As a special highlight, Vox up will bring back a special edition of the popular travel magazine show “Voxtours” in the New Year. But viewers can also look forward to earlier successful shows such as “Rizzoli & Isles” or “McLeod’s Daughters,” as well as Tim Mälzer’s cookery show “Schmeckt nicht, gibt’s nicht.”
