Every night for three months, Cyril Lignac both entertained and educated the French public as he prepared a two-course meal live from his home. He shared over 100 recipes, using ingredients that were abundantly available despite severe lockdown restrictions. Not only were the episodes informative, they also provided that tiny window of escapism from a world that has been plagued by strict lockdowns. Although restrictions have eased, the culinary programme is returning to M6 and will be available on catch-up.
On average, two million people watched “Tous En Cuisine” every evening, making it the pinnacle of M6’s creative responses to the Coronavirus pandemic. The programme received unprecedented ratings for its given time slot and propelled M6 to the most watched channel for those under 50.
M6’s rapid adaptation to a limited production landscape allowed its market share to surpass 11%. Audiences are at an all-time high and creativity has been the key to engaging with them.
